Does Anyone have any good recommendations? More about finding films that inspire coven related workings or thinking but post your cheesey celluloid embarrasments here too I have seen a fair few in my time but the latest was Priest. I was really excited for the firlm as i had read a glimpse of Manga/comic. Film was pretty sub par but it had a pretty cool wasteland feel to it and the capital city looked really good. Definitely a good viewing for aspiring mappers short on inspiration.

Totally agree with Priest. Daybreakers was a pretty outstanding let down. Similar to Coven in some respects, vastly different in others. Worth a watch if you haven't seen it. Probably not worth watching twice. Some of their tech might be inspirational for stumped artists. Cant think of anything else at the moment

Blood: The last vampire,
The actual grunt vampires in it look like giant mutated bats, its quite a refreshing change from what we usually see. Also it has an intresting twist where vampires can only be killed by the blood of this girl slayer, so to kill these things she has to eviscerate herself over this gnarly sword before she can fight. The animation is kind of cool but still has a lot of failing childish things that japanese anime is renowned for that drags it down for me.
30 Days of Night: Watching the vamps take down humans in this is actually like playing coven. Pretty brutal film with a fantastic setting. some of the stuff is a little cheeseball and generic but overall for vampires in alaska i loved it

Vampire hunter D: I just love this film for the architecture towards the ending ( very steampunk/gothic) and the bounty hunters. Some great design choices to be seen in this film, a lot of them do not fit covens setting but are fantastic never the less and got my brain running.

cronos: was watching this film last night but I passed out halfway through it. its by the same guy who made Pan's labyrinth. basic plot is a 14th century alchemist made a device that contains an insect. the device looks like a gold beetle but when a switch is turned it bites into the holder and stings them giving them a vampire like disease which sustains life. n this device turns up in an antique dealers shop hidden in a statue of st Michael and the owner accidentally uses it on himself. looked like a great film and I am definitely getting the dvd.
bit off topic but for some ideas and refrences I recently picked up a graphic novel of two short stories set in the "30 days of night" universe. its pretty darn good and as soon as my net is back I'm intending to scan it up so I can share it with you fine people.

I suppose Blade might have some interesting scenery. Especially nr2, as they have a pretty big, futuristic lab. The Underworld series could work as a reference too I suppose.
PS: If you ever feel like something is right in the world, and you have it pretty much figured out. I recommend you watch "Jesus Christ the Vampire Hunter." And pretty soon you'll feel like the world is a fucked up place again.
