Q: Is Coven dead? A: No.
Q: Where did the developers go? A: Moving, sleeping, learning, working.
Q: Does Coven work in Valve's post September 30th apocalypse? A: Best answer, no.
Q: Where did the servers go? A: See above.
Q: Will Coven ever rise from the grave? A: Yes. We are working ongoing to get an OB version up and running that is in line with the original vision.
Q: Will the OB version be better? A: Probably. Don't expect purple unicorns though. The end vision for the moment is the exact place we left off under the old engine.
Q: What exactly happened? A: Progress was going well. Then Valve force updated everything to the Orange Box engine, and we were left with two years of assets that did basically nothing.
Q: What is happening/is going to happen? A: We are working on Coven "from scratch." That is in quotes because we are re-coding it from the bottom up. We have all our old code. We have all of our assets. We have the original story. Basically, Valve snookered us into an elaborate game of 52 card pickup.
That being said, we plan to keep extremely transparent progress and keep our great community in the loop. This means you are probably going to witness some steps "backward" for a while. Ultimately, Coven will be the Coven you remember, but better at every single point.
