Linux could just be the bane of my existence (did they make it using holy water? ). I will probably always support it, but I am considering just not as heavily... i.e. I will compile it but not "support" it. As was discussed on the old forums, it seems like a lot of the crashing and instability is caused by Linux (my server is currently the only server running Linux). Would anyone be completely heartbroken if I decided to go that route? I think I might have found a Windows host in the US, so this is becoming more realistic. I figure removing this headache would free up some time and energy for focusing on more complex stuff (like moving to OB).

Well i think linux support is far more important then moving to OB, since most hosting companys offer linux servers and very few offer windows servers. btw is the current linux build stable? My buddy at hlfi.net could host a Coven server (linux). P.S. Big thumbs up for making a successor for VS

Do not move to OB. At least not yet. Wait till Source 2009 comes out, and then consider it. I've seen at least 1 mod go straight to hell by moving to Source 2007. The source 2006 engine might be a bit uglier but it works better and is more stable.

Glad to see people digging the trashy old engine . Linux has fallen a bit off the radar. We will continue to make Linux builds, just expect it to be far buggier, and probably a bit delayed (very delayed in this case ). Been astoundingly busy here but I will try to get a Linux build for 3.1 up ASAP.
